We've both been online long enough to remember when the web was something you built yourself. No algorithms deciding who sees your content. No platform taking a cut. No monthly fee just to share a list of links.
So when link-in-bio tools started charging for things like custom fonts, scheduled posts and click analytics — features that cost almost nothing to build — we did what any self-respecting GenX developers would do. We built our own.
FreeTree started as something we made for ourselves. Then we thought: why keep it to ourselves?
A link page is a simple thing. It shouldn't cost you £9 a month. It shouldn't lock your best features behind a paywall. And it definitely shouldn't show ads to the people who visit your page.
We believe creators, small businesses, musicians, writers, activists, and anyone else who just needs a clean place to send people — deserves a properly good tool, completely free.
FreeTree gives you custom themes, scheduled links, click analytics, link images, social icons, a live preview, and more. All of it. Free. No credit card. No trial period. No "upgrade to unlock".
We're a couple of GenX developers with a long history of building things on the internet — and an equally long history of being annoyed by unnecessary paywalls. FreeTree is a side project built with care, running lean, and not going anywhere.
We don't have a VC to impress or a growth target to hit. We just want FreeTree to be genuinely useful — and stay that way.
It does exactly what it says. It's a tree of links. And it's free.
